Who We Are

  • Meg Farhall

    Artistic Director

    Meg Farhall is a Calgary based actor, arts educator, and administrator. She was Artistic Director of Alberta High School of Fine Arts (2008-2009) and is Co-founder and ensemble cast member of The Late, Late Breakfast Show; a company committed to developing provocative and inclusive sketch comedy.

    As an arts educator and administrator, Meg has worked for many Calgary-based organizations including: Pumphouse Theatre Alberta Jr. High Drama Festival, Calgary One-Act Play Festival (Festival Director), Sage Theatre: Ignite Festival, and Company of Rogues Actors’ Studio.

    As a performer you may have seen her work on the following stages: Downstage Theatre, Vertigo Theatre, The Shakespeare Company, Theatre Yes, High Performance Rodeo, Major Matt Mason, LunchBox Theatre and more.

    Meg holds a Theatre Arts Diploma in Performance from Mount Royal College (2000), a B.FA performance (2002) and a B.Ed. Drama Education degree (2005) from The University of Lethbridge.

  • Isabella Pedersen

    Isabella "Izzy" Pedersen is a mixed-race Filipina actress, writer and radio host. She has worked around the world with companies such as Cosmopolitan Magazine, Alberta Theatre Projects and Global TV. Recent credits include: Twelfth Night (Olivia), Barefoot in the Park (Corie), Theatre Calgary's Little Women (Swing: Meg/Beth/Amy) and Alberta Theatre Projects' Teenage Dick (Anne Margaret).

    Izzy dreams of creating positive change through the Arts. She is deeply passionate about sharing diverse, inclusive women's/BIPOC perspectives in media. But more than anything, she just wants to help tell beautiful stories. Izzy is thrilled to be joining the Handsome Alice family!

Accomplishments

Since 2005, the company has produced twenty four productions from the classic and contemporary canons to premieres of new Canadian works. With artistic excellence leading our core values, artists associated with Handsome Alice Theatre productions have garnered two Betty Mitchell Awards, eighteen Betty Mitchell Award nominations, five Critics Choice Award nominations, and two FFWD Weekly Readers’ Choice Award nominations.
