Three new works. Three distinct stories. One exciting season of theatre.

We are thrilled to announce three upcoming productions in our 2026–27 season. From student-devised theatre and a darkly playful new musical to an intimate drama about a mother and daughter, these productions invite audiences to question, connect, laugh, and reflect.

Yet to be Named

October 30–November 7, 2026 | Reeve Theatre, University of Calgary

What happens when 12 young artists are given the space to tell their own stories?

Yet to be Named is a new devised theatre piece exploring storytelling through the lens of gender identity. Created collaboratively by the students, the work weaves together their experiences, perspectives, and questions about identity and the world around them.

Built on trust, creativity, and individual storytelling, this deeply personal new work asks us to listen, question, and consider the many ways we experience and express who we are.

Little Elves

October 29–November 8, 2026 | Victor Mitchell Theatre, Pumphouse Theatre

Book & Lyrics by Kodie Rollan | Music & Lyrics by Alixandra Cowman

A folk tale gone very, very wrong.

Little Elves is a new musical inspired by the story of St. Nicholas and the Evil Butcher. Three young Asian girls find themselves trapped in a town that is not welcoming to them—and after escaping their captor, they must figure out how to survive, cover their tracks, and get out.

Blending folk, country, and pop sounds with the atmosphere of an eerie story told around a campfire, Little Elves dives into questions of vengeance, justice, religion, racism, and survival.

When the odds are stacked against you, what will you do to survive?

She Carries Me Again

May 7–15, 2027 | Vertigo Studio Theatre

By Lauren Brotman | Directed by Tara Beagan

Two women. One complicated history. A chance to find their way back to each other.

She Carries Me Again is an explosive, poetic, and deeply human 80-minute drama about NINA and JENNY, an estranged mother and daughter brought together by an over-extended health care system.

As their mental and physical worlds collide, old wounds surface—and the possibility of healing begins to emerge. Inspired by playwright Lauren Brotman’s own experiences with her mother and breast cancer, the play is ultimately a hopeful story about family, freedom, and the connections that carry us through.

Intimate, funny, intense, and full of heart, She Carries Me Again invites us to recognize something of our own relationships in the stories of others.

Three productions. Three very different worlds. Stories about identity, survival, family, and what it means to find our way forward.

We invite you to join us throughout the 2026–27 season as we bring these bold new works to Calgary stages.
